Letter One: Beginning My Busy Slow Living Journey

Every journey begins with a first step — or in my case, a first letter. Busy Slow Living is my way of learning to weave calm into a busy life, finding energy in simple habits, and noticing joy in small, everyday moments. This is where my reset begins.

Dear Friend,

Today feels a little like opening a fresh notebook. The first page is crisp, the pen glides differently, and even though it’s just paper and ink, it carries the weight of possibility. That’s how I feel writing this first letter to you.

I started this project because life — my life, maybe yours too — had become a tangle of rushing, juggling, and long lists of “to-dos.” Somewhere between my job, my home, and walking Max (my Springer Spaniel who firmly believes mud is his spiritual calling), I realized my days blurred together, with weeks and years running away.

And yet, inside, I craved the opposite.

Not escape. Not running away. But a softer pace — the kind where there’s room to notice the smell of coffee in the morning, or the simple joy of a walk that isn’t about steps, but about hearing the crunch of leaves under your shoes.

That’s what Busy Slow Living means to me.

It isn’t a perfect retreat in the countryside (though I wouldn’t mind one). It’s the art of finding slowness right here, in the middle of deadlines, laundry, and grocery lists. It’s about creating balance in a busy life through mindful habits, gentle routines, and simple joys. It’s about building energy in ways that last — like choosing water before coffee, or noticing small things you can later capture in a gratitude journal.

This project is my personal reset, but it’s also an invitation to you. Each week, I’ll be trying and sharing:

  • One practical energy tip to feel stronger and more alive in everyday life. Because energy is what allows us to enjoy life fully.

  • One slow living reflection or habit to bring more calm, balance, and joy.

I hope these letters become a pause in your day — a small moment of reflection and calm. A reminder that slow living isn’t about giving things up. It’s about enjoying what’s already here.

So here we are. Page one. Letter one.
Shall we see where it takes us?

Love,
Natasha
